As of now, all of the short programs have been performed by each discipline. Here are our feelings about the resuts, and a few links to the programs for the Men’s and Dance events:
Men’s:
1. Javier Fernandez(ESP) 93.92
So Javi is on top of the leaderboard with a fantastic performance to 70s classic Black Betty by Ram Jam. While hip action alone might not get him a ton of points, it’s safe to say this triple axel and his fantastic dance moves stole the show. Fernandez will have to skate completely cleanly in the Freeskate in order to maintain his 3 point lead over Sergei Voronov. Now that all figure skating disciplines allow music with lyrics, expect a lot more personality and style to come out of the men’s and women’s events.
